Planning Dairy

During this planning diary i will be writing a review of our project to this date, analysing are progress and explaining what ideas we have disregarded and what ideas we have developed throughout the course of our project.

One our our initial ideas was a shot of our female character riding her bike through a summery field however we never filmed this shot as we could not find a suitable location for the female to ride such a long distance and we were unable to find the correct style of bike.We had envisaged that we wanted a pastel coloured bike either a pastel blue or pink that had a feminine style with a basket on the front. We went around friends and relatives for a suitable bike but no one had anything we felt would suit the personality of the character and theme of the video. The only suitable candidate was a £150 from a local bike shop but this was too expensive only to use in one video. This is our original piece of storyboard showing how we would film the bike shots.

Another shot that we first wanted to include at the beginning of our project was a scene of the male character sitting in a restaurant dressed in a black hat as if he were an undercover spy sitting down reading a paper but slowly lowering to reveal his face as he 'checks out' the bum of the female character as it suggests in the songs lyrics. However we decided we didn't want to portray our male character in that way and that we would rather suit the pop theme of the song by representing  a innocent and sweet teen relationship of 2 people really in love with each other and not just because of each others physical appearances. We were then just going to show another male friend character passing a love note to the female when the lyric reads 'friend told me that you liked it.'

Another shot were wanted to initially film was a stop motion animation sequence of the female character spinning on the spot and each time her outfit would change and we really wanted it to look as though she were spinning around normally as her outfit automatically change. We filmed this and made sure the female was standing of a fixed marker so when she left to change outfits she went back to exactly the same position so that the action would run smoothly. However when it can to editing the footage it did not run a smoothy as we first hoped.Even after we sped up the footage it never seemed to look continuous and natural often the female character did not stop turning and the begin in the same position striking a problem with continuity.

The last shot we did not eventually feature was a shot of the female character in various environments wearing different outfits each time as she held up a paper sign saying either 'do' or 'da' (to be put into the section of the song that says 'dodododadododadadododadododadadododado' so for each do or da we would have a sot of the female holding up the sign screwing it into a ball and then opening it out again in the next shot. However when it came to editing we had enough shot that we preferred to use during this part of the song and we didn't think the outcome for the shots were as good as some of our other options.

So far to date i think i project has began really well so far we have completed a large amount of blog posts and equally contributed our skills towards them working really efficiently as a group. However i still think we need to try to use various medias to post on our blog such as more videos and pictures etc instead of just writing furthermore i think we need to go back and read each others blog posts to check for any grammar and spelling mistakes and just improve some of the content of our posts as a lot of posts  do not contain a huge amount of evaluation

Filming has also gone really well and we are all pleased with the results to date we have completed all of the filming we planned to do apart from one small scene for the very end of the video. We wanted to film quite early on in the project so we could relax and know we had completed the most vital part of our project and be more able to focus on continuing and improving the blog. furthermore we wanted to ensure all the footage looked good so that we had enough time to re-film any shots that we were not satisfied with.

Luckily we only had to re-film one shot which was the 'Merry' 'Happy' pieces of cheese on toast. This went wrong the first time as it was the last thing we filmed on our very first day of filming and the battery began to run out and each time we would stop and then begin to record for the stop animation the camera would bomb out. So when the footage was put on the computer only the letters M E and R were successfully recorded. So we just had to complete this piece of filming yet again.

To date we have uploaded edited all of the footage and put it together with the song all the footage is in order and put into sequence with the song however all we need to do know is move around some odd shots so they go exactly in time with the rhythm of the song this has been the hardest part of the projects making shure each shot is edited in time with the beat especially with lip syncing which needs to be exactly in time with the music to make the video look really professional.

Together we had a meeting to plan each date that we were all avalible to film on and exactually what we would be filming and the props and costumes we would need to bring with so we could be organised and do everything correctly so we were less likely to need to go back and re-film any footage. We were also realistic with our filming schedule we discussed how much we could realistically get finished in the ammount of time we had and we planned all our filming either within our media lessons or outside of school. To make the most of the spare time which we had.

This is a document we wrote when we began our blog work that assigned each group member a post to do  so that everyone was clear of the work they needed to complete and we didn't argue about posts and we were all clear of what we needed to do so we could go on to complete them quickly and efficiently
