Analysis of our year 12 blog

Here is an example of the use of video in our blog.
When looking at our my  from last years thriller assignment there are a number of strenghs and weakness. For example i believe that we used a wide range of various media techniques which made our blog more interesting to look through as it was not all just huge essays of writing and videos and photos help to break up the blog and make it a lot more interesting furthermore it would have been more time consuming to write down every single blog post and it was a lot easier just to put on a camera and record ourselves. Furthermore we had bigger problems when it came to filming and editing our thriller we decided to use a group member own video camera so it was also available to us and easy to access, however we did not realise how this would impact on the editing of the film the video clips from the camera were saved as .MOV which seemed to be incompatible with most of the computers around the school and no matter what we tried we were unable to access them on the school computers so were unable to upload our work onto the editing software and school. The only way we were able to edit our film is to put it on another class members laptop and edit it on his software. This was hard to do as often we only had and 1 hour lesson to do the editing and often he needed the laptop himself to edit his film so often we felt rushed to complete the film  which i felt affected the quality of our final thriller opening.

I also think that we recorded our hours of filming well and we kept updating our blog every time we filmed keeping a detailed diary of each day a trying to again using a varying range of media to record the diary of a day shooting. For example not only did we write a verbal description of the days events but backed up the post by including videos and pictures.

However i believe that the blog work was not always fairly distributed across the group i ended up doing a larger amount of blog work than the other members of my group which is probably unfair for everyone in the group. However it was not intentional for me to do this i believe that the fact that enjoy writing and am reasonably fast a typing meant that i was just able to complete more of the literate tasks and when it came to taking and uploading videos and the more creative side of production eg poster and credits my other group members were also able to prove their skills and increase the number of blog post they completed. For our next project i think that we should all do a wider range of post and each try our hand at each aspect of the project such as visual, written, and production work.
