Initial Digipak Idea

For our initial digi pac idea we pit together some imagery that we thought represented the style of Kate Nash and coincided with the theme of our video as well representing the flowery summer theme of our video showing imagery of flowers and fields. This is only our initial idea and to develop it we are going to take more pictures of our female character for inside panels.Also we want to childlike messy font on the back to be used further on the album such as on the front of the cd or on the cd itself saying the name of the artist and album title. furthermore i think that the way the photos are all edited on a vintage faded style goes with the vintage style theme of the video and makes the photos come together and makes sure the colour palette  run a constant throughout and making the digi pac come together.

Digipaks are gate fold paperboard or card covers used to package Cd's usually consisting of up to 8 panels that fold out to reveal varying images like a book.Digipak-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums usually the various panels of the digipack contain elements such a information booklets lyrics and information about the tracks or some bonus features such as information on the artist of posters. The CD itself usually has an image on it or font or logos of the artist/band, which could be the artist or band, album name, album cover or just an image.

A digipak consists of a front CD cover which we be on the front of the  packaging and would usually show an image of the artist or a image identifiable with the artist and the name of the band/artists name/title that should be in a font that is also identifiable as belonging to that artist.

Secondly, the back cover of the digipak  would usually include the names of all the tracks  from the cd . A bar code so the CD can be purchased  and the record label's logo would also be on the back but somewhere at the bottom

Usually the digipack offers some kind of  bonus  for their fans either a special edition poster or bonus tracks only available on this CD acting as an incentive for their audience to make them more likely to buy it. This is almost a reward for fans who have made the effort to purchase the cd rather that illegally buying it.

Furthermore many artists include personal messages directed at their fans to reward them for buying their cd directly and legally which is a good way of marketing themselves and connecting to their audience
