Example of a programme that may appeal to consumers in the 'Social Climbers' category |
By looking at these categories of consumers within the population companies can purposely create a programme to suit their target audience or the people they know are already watching their channel and create another similar programme to further appeal to their audience. For example creators of 'The only way is Essex' would expect their programme to appeal to social climber rather than care givers based on the content and over all theme of the programme, whereas a programme about the state of NHS hospitals in Britain would be more likely to appeal to Care givers. When producing programmes or any other type of media product companies keep these titles in mind to ensure they are able to create a programme that appeals to at least one of the groups to ensure they have a steady target audience.
